Visit of Dr. Sumedha Chakma, IIT Delhi, to the Civil Engineering Department, NITM

Dr. Sumedha Chakma from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) working as Professor and an expert in Watershed Management visited the Civil Engineering Department of NITM on 18/03/2026. The visit was aimed at academic interaction, discussion on ongoing research activities, and exploring possibilities for future collaboration between the two institutions. He interacted with faculty members and undergraduate and postgraduate civil engineering students regarding their academic and research works. The following points were discussed during the interaction:

• Opportunities for joint research projects in relevant areas of civil engineering
• Possibility of organising guest lectures, workshops, and short-term training programs
• Scope for student internships and academic exchange in the future

The visit was fruitful and provided a valuable opportunity for academic exchange and strengthening institutional ties between NITM and IIT Delhi. The department looks forward to future collaborations and continued academic interaction.
