Advertisement for Project Associate-I (PA-1) Position

Applications are invited from highly motivated and dynamic Indian nationals for Project Associate-I position for the project titled "Design and development of bio-mimetic propeller blades with PBCF technology for minimizing underwater radiated noise"  under Technology innovation and development foundation, IIT Guwahati. (Project No.: TIH/TD/1017) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Meghalaya.

Co-Principal investigators (Co-PI): Dr. Sambit Majumder (Assistant Professor) and  Dr. Subhendu Maity (Associate Professor), Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Meghalaya.

Duration of the project available: Around 7 months (Upto October 2026)

Eligibility: MTech/ME (or, BTech) in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Fluid/ Thermal Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent in Master’s degree (or, 75% marks or an equivalent in Bachelor’s degree).

Desirable Qualification & Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with working experience relevant to the project. Candidate should have knowledge of CAD Modelling, 3D printing and CFD simulation.

Age limit: Must not be over 28 years as on 20^th March 2026 (relaxation as per the norms/orders of Government of India).

Duration of appointment: Around 7 months (Upto October 2026)

Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship: Rs. 37,000/- per month plus HRA / accommodation as per institute norms (with GATE score) and Rs. 30,000/- per month plus HRA / accommodation as per institute norms (without GATE score).

2. The subject of the email should contain “Application for the post of PA-1 in project (TIH/TD/1017)”.
3. The short-listed candidates for interview (online/offline) will be intimated only through emails. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
4. Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee invitation to the interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit and need of the project. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated to appear in the interview and no other communication in this regard will be entertained. The authority reserves the right of accepting/rejecting any or all applications without assigning any reason thereof.
5. The position is purely temporary. Candidate selected for this position may be converted to regular Ph.D. in NIT Meghalaya.
6. Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark-sheets and other testimonials must be presented at the time of interview (may not be applicable for virtual mode based interview).
