INDICATIVE VACANCY NOTIFICATION FOR NON-TEACHING POSTS

National Institute of Technology Meghalaya, located in Cherapunji, Sohra, Meghalaya-793108 is one among the 31 NITs established by the Government of India by an Act of the Parliament offering UG, PG and Ph.D programs in Engineering / Technology and Sciences. The Institute invites applications from Indian Nationals possessing the requisite qualifications and experience as per the extant Recruitment Rules duly approved by the Ministry of Human Resources Development / Ministry of Education, Government of India for appointment to the undermentioned Non-Teaching posts on direct recruitment basis.

DETAILS OF PAY, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. On line application form must be submitted in the prescribed format as available in the Institute's Website. Application form and other details can be referred from the Website www.nitm,ac.in. Neither hard copy of the application for the advertised posts nor application in Off-line mode shall be accepted.
  1. Last date of receiving and submission of filled in application is 45 days from the date of publication of advertisement in the Employment News.
  2. The last date of application shall only be considered for fixing / deciding any kind of eligibility criteria.
  3. The Application Form should be accompanied with prescribed o n l i n e application fee of Rs.500/ (Five Hundred Only) applying for the Post at Sl. No.1 and for remaining posts, Rs 200/ (Two Hundred only) in the same online mode However, SC / ST / Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), female candidates are exempted from payment of the prescribed fees subject to submission of relevant certificate issued by the competent authority.
  4. Candidates applying for more than one post should submit separate application forms for each post along with stipulated application Fee.
  5. Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.
  6. Candidates who have successfully completed filling up the Application Form shall have to pay the application fee through SBI Collect by following the instructions carefully. Candidates are advised to read details given in the “Check Payment Process” link carefully before making the payment.
  7. The candidates are also instructed to keep a copy of the transaction receipt for future reference.
  8. All applications and payment of fees will be accepted only through online mode.
  9. Government Rules and norms will be applicable for every post and category of posts. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC / PwD categories should attach certificate from the competent empowered authority. The category benefit will be given subject to candidate as has been claimed in the application form.
  10. The Institute reserves the right to offer a lower post including entry level post of the cadre to suitable candidates in case they are not found suitable for the post for which they submitted their application.
  11. Mere fulfilment of the required qualifications and experience, does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview / selection. The Institute reserves the right to fix the criteria of shortlisting the candidates after scrutiny by a duly constituted committee and the decision of the committee will be made applicable for the mode of selection with the approval of the competent authority.
  12. The list of the shortlisted candidates will be made available on the Institute’s website. Only the shortlisted candidates will be communicated for Test / Interview etc. by publishing in web-site (for which the candidates need to check periodically or through e-mail.
  13. Candidates in Government / Semi-Government / reputed private institutions should send their applications through proper channel. However, an advance copy may be sent before the last date. Such candidates are required to produce “No Objection Certificate” at the time of interview, failing which they may not be considered for selection process / interview. It is the sole responsibility of the candidates to comply the above be it not communicated to the candidates while requisitioning them for attending the selection process / test / interview.

Relaxation shall be as per GoI norms
  1. Age relaxation shall be made applicable to the eligible departmental candidates.
  2. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification for the post.
  1. Legal disputes, if any, with NIT Meghalaya will be restricted within the jurisdiction of the Courts of Meghalaya only.
  2. TA / DA will not be paid for attending the Written Test/ skill test/ interview.
  3. The Institute reserves the right to defer or cancel the advertisement if required at any stage of processing without assigning any reason.
  4. Self-attested copies of the following documents must be uploaded along with application:
    1. Community category certificate. For OBC candidates, OBC Status and Non-Creamy Layer Status duly issued by the competent authority on or after 1st April 2024)
    2. Certificates and mark sheets / degrees/ grade cards of all degrees, 12th and 10th standard
    3. Experience certificate if any claimed
    4. Certificates of all other additional qualifications claimed, if any
    5. Age Proof (HSLC / HSC or equivalent certificate issued by competent authority)
  5. Claims of educational qualifications, experience or any other technical qualifications must be supported by relevant certificates as well as mark sheets. Applications not supported by relevant documents shall be summarily rejected.
  6. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates calling for interview / skill test/ written test to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than those prescribed in this advertisement.
  7. All Degree / diploma certificates should be from UGC recognized Universities / Institutes.
  8. Selected Candidates should be ready to join within the stipulated time.
  9. Applications not submitted in prescribed format and / or without requisite and specified documentary proofs and / or without application fee will not be considered.
  10. It is desired that the applicants will provide correct information. If it is found, at a later date, that any information given in the application form is incorrect / false or any information if suppressed, the candidature / appointment is liable to be cancelled / terminated without assigning any reason.
  11. Notwithstanding anything contained in this advertisement, guideline / recruitment rules, as communicated by Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Govt. of India vide letter No. F.35- 5/2018- TS.III, dated 4th April 2019 will be applicable. The candidates are advised to refer to all other related MHRD / MOE notifications regarding the recruitment rules for Non-Teaching staff.
  12. The RRs issued by MHRD / MOE is the guiding document and shall be relied upon for any case of discrepancies. In case of any change in the Recruitment Rules of Non-Teaching Staff of NITs by MHRD in its Anomaly Report, the Institute may incorporate the changes during its recruitment process and notify the same on the Institute’s website.
