   Events and Activities of International Students @ NIT Meghalaya

Welcoming of First-Year International Students (Batch 2024–2028)

Description: A formal meeting was held with all international students at NIT Meghalaya, during which the newly admitted first-year students of the 2024–2028 batch were warmly welcomed and felicitated. The Director of NIT Meghalaya and the Professor-in-Charge (PIC) of the Centre for International Relations (CIR) engaged in open and meaningful discussion with the students, highlighting academic expectations, campus life, and common challenges faced by international students. The session provided a platform for students to express their concerns and receive guidance from the administration. It fostered a sense of inclusion, support, and belonging, and marked a positive beginning for the international students' academic journey at the institute.

 


 

 

Cultural Exhibition at Shishir – The Annual Cultural Fest of NIT Meghalaya

Description: During Shishir, the annual cultural festival of NIT Meghalaya, international students actively participated in a vibrant cultural exhibition. Students from Nepal and Bangladesh showcased their traditional attire, food, music, and cultural items, drawing interest and appreciation from the entire campus community. The exhibition served as a platform for cultural exchange and celebration, allowing others to experience and learn about the unique traditions of different countries. It reflected the enthusiasm and pride of the international students in representing their heritage and added a colorful and meaningful dimension to the festival.

 

Food Fest at Shishir – The Annual Cultural Fest of NIT Meghalaya

Description: During Shishir, the annual cultural festival of NIT Meghalaya, international students enthusiastically participated in the vibrant Food Fest competition. Team Nepal, comprising of Mr. Bhabishya Paudel, Mr. Avishek Sah, and Mr. Sanjog Singh, secured first position with their authentic Nepalese cuisine. The team impressed judges and visitors with their traditional chicken choila set and waiwai sadeko, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Nepal. The Food Fest served as a delightful platform for cultural exchange through gastronomy, allowing the campus community to experience diverse flavors and cooking traditions. The event highlighted the culinary talents of international students and fostered cross-cultural appreciation, adding a flavorful and engaging dimension to the festival's multicultural atmosphere.
